Passport and Visa Requirements

Before embarking on your Tanzanian adventure, ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your entry date. Most travelers will also require a visa to enter Tanzania. Depending on your nationality, you may be able to obtain a visa on arrival, or you may need to apply in advance through the Tanzanian embassy or online via the eVisa system.

Visas on arrival are available at major points of entry such as Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam and Kilimanjaro International Airport. However, it is advisable to apply for an eVisa before you travel to avoid long queues and potential delays. Keep a copy of your visa confirmation and travel itinerary handy for immigration officials.

It's also important to verify specific visa requirements based on your nationality, as regulations can change. Always check with your local Tanzanian embassy or consulate for the latest updates. Remember, overstaying your visa can lead to penalties, so be mindful of the duration of your stay.
